Are These Sound Bites With Your Mind?

What you say and how you say it changes the way you regard yourself, what you think and how you act. How you connect, create meaning, and deliver value. Authentic back in 2013, i wrote a post ranting about how the word “authentic” has been abused.

Lost its “authenticity” so to speak. 4 years later, nothing has changed. People are still chasing templates and scripts and blueprints while hoping their “authentic” voice will magically come through without doing the work.

Dude, where do i sign up for that? 2. The truth of who you are there’s gotta be some truth in here but the way this phrase rolls off some “gurus'” tongues just makes me cringe. I’m all for finding the truth that’s deep, deep inside of us.

But the way it’s doled out left right and center cheapens it. Your truth pulls your heartstrings. Your truth hurts.

Your truth awakens something that makes your stomach churn. Your truth brings you to your knees. There’s nothing easy about it please, please, please put some thoughts behind how you talk about it.

3. [ happy picture with spouse ] seen this many times – one breath a person is telling her list how happily married she is, plastering happy pics with her spouse in social media posts, newsletters, marketing materials or on stage. And then 6 months later, saying how she’s rising from a “horrendous marriage”.

I just wonder if this person really had no inkling that something is horrendously wrong just a few months before a divorce. And thus, the authenticity of the intention behind that picture. 4.

Charge what you’re worth never ever tie your self-worth to what people are paying you. This is the biggest/sh*ttiest kool-aide those mindset gurus are doing to feed our false sense of “snowflakiness” (see #8). Your pricing reflects what your product or service is worth to your market and how well you’re articulating that value.

Got nothing to do with you as a person. Get over yourself. 5.

) and selling 20 pieces is not “leverage. 6. Money mindset before i was introduced to this whole “money mindset” thing, i was doing just fine, thank you very much.

Thinking something, wonder if i’m thinking it right, and wonder if i should be wondering. Today, i live a simpler life. (1) stop that money mindset noise in my head.

Stop telling me what to think, “guru. Doesn’t matter what’s going on with the client’s money situation. I can smell sh*tty boundary from miles away, but i keep my hands to myself.

(3) instead of all the mental acrobats, i ask every morning – to whom can i send an invoice today? problem solved. 7. Manifest i’m all about the energetics.

After all, i’m a reflector in human design and got a sh*t ton of psychic and intuitive gift marks. No reason to squander them. But then, “manifestation” eludes me.

I’d rather put my fate in my hands by doing good work rather than sitting on my ass, think happy thoughts and make excellent vibration. When i do good work, when i create meaning, i feel awesome. I’m at my tip top energy.

Then good things happen. 8. Your unique ________ are we really such “snowflakes?” sure, i talk about how important it is to tap into our unique combo of strengths and experience and pov.

A lot. That’s how your build a personal brand that stands out. That’s how you do good work.

That’s how you can create meaningful results. But we often forget the other side of the coin. Our shared human experience is what allows us to connect with our people.

Our common sense is what prevents us from stepping off the cliff and believing that we’re different so we don’t go “splat!” we’re not above gravity and human psychology. 9. The context, the individual, the personality, the value, the why.

Your story. The context, the individual, the personality, the value, the why. Your story.

There are knowledge and experience you can learn from these programs and training, for sure. But please don’t blindly implement. We have robots for that.

It’s bullsh*t to say “your unique whatever” in one breath and then turn around and sell you a don’t-question-just-do blueprint or rubber-stamp-it formula. Let’s not encourage intellectual laziness.
